Project Description

Do you think 2D mobile games will be soon a thing of the past? We created Crazy Barrels, a non-conventional mobile game that utilizes AR to bring the game out the screen.

The game consists of a platform that distributes the barrels in two different baskets. By using the UI displayed in the touch screen or the cell phone’s tilt angle, you can control the movement of the platform to let the barrels fall in its corresponding basket. It seems like an easy job but is challenging !

This is the workflow

  1.  Unity as the game engine. All game mechanics were created using events, C# scripts, and colliders.
  2. Unity Asset Store to get the Lean Touch package. This is used to add the touch controls in the game.
  3. Vuforia SDK to integrate the image marker detection and occlusion planes. These planes hide the barrels that could fall from the game surface.
  4. Android Build to test this native application with Android devices.
