Prototyping is absolutely one of the first steps during the development of any XR application. We can bring up different concepts and by testing our design in a “real-world” environment, it is easier to identify potential problems and prevent costly mistakes down the road.
I use ShapesXR for most of my prototypes, ShapesXR is a creation and collaboration platform available in the Oculus Store. It allows you to create 3D scenes using native or imported assets and share the experience with everyone with an access code.
I created a prototype of an AR application that would replace the conventional In Flight Entertainment systems with a new Immersive experience onboard. This project won first place in the ShapesXR 2021 Contest with the theme “The future of media consumption in the Metaverse”.
